Hiringcycle.ai 2024 Competency Report is Published!
At Hiringcycle.ai, we believe in the power of data-driven decisions in recruitment processes. In line with this belief, we are pleased to share with you the Hiringcycle.ai 2024 Competency Report, prepared based on the data from 49,872 video interviews conducted throughout the year 2024.
Our report analyzes the competency profiles of candidates using data collected from 82 companies operating in various sectors, revealing trends that differ by industry and experience level. Our aim is to help companies build stronger recruitment strategies and structure their talent management in a future-oriented way.
So, what stood out this year?
While the most intensive interview hours occurred on Sunday evenings, the competency in which candidates scored the highest was "Communication and Self-Expression." On the other hand, "Reasoning Skills" remained relatively low among many candidates, with notable differences in this competency across industries and position levels.
Analyses Reveal Sector-Specific Competency Differences
Sectoral analyses revealed that each line of work has different priorities. In fields with intensive customer interaction such as banking, services, and call centers, communication skills come to the forefront. In contrast, achievement orientation stands out as a key factor in sectors like automotive and logistics. In industries such as manufacturing, technology, and telecommunications, technical knowledge and process tracking are prioritized, while individual decision-making skills tend to be in the background.
Competency Strengths Vary by Experience Level
In analyses based on experience levels, it was observed that interns and recent graduates performed well in areas like communication, adaptability, and teamwork, while they had room for improvement in skills such as reasoning and result orientation. Managers, on the other hand, stood out in achievement orientation but portrayed a more limited profile in terms of openness to learning. These differences indicate the need to reconsider development plans for employees at different levels.
MT (Internship) Programs Were Also Examined
Data from candidates participating in 36 different MT (internship) programs were analyzed separately. It was found that participants were strong in communication, teamwork, and flexibility, whereas competencies such as strategic thinking and result orientation required further support.
Positive Outcomes in Terms of Candidate Experience
The report also highlights positive results regarding candidate experience. 97% of participants found the time allocated sufficient, and 93% found the questions clear. The average candidate satisfaction score was measured at 4.7 out of 5. These findings once again underscore the importance of making candidates feel safe and understood in digital recruitment processes.
The Hiringcycle.ai 2024 Competency Report aims not only to understand the present but also to help shape the future. It includes comprehensive data and analyses on a wide range of topics—from which industries should invest in which competencies to the development potential of young professionals.
